Have you ever wondered how it all begins with a ball of clay and turns into a ceramic mug or bowl at the end?
Escape to the High Country in North East Victoria and experience the ancient craft of ceramics. You will work on your own wheel, enjoy a delicious catered lunch and create unique, stoneware tableware for you to use and love.
This is a great workshop to come on your own or with a few friends. Groups of six can also book a private workshop.
No experience is necessary, but if you have thrown before, your friendly teacher Wendy will help you extend your skills. This is a great way to learn how to throw in one day and refine your skills in a relaxing studio with gorgeous views of the high country.
At the end of the class, you would have made several unique ceramic pieces for your home, as well as learning more about the pottery wheel.

Wendy Jagger has been working as a visual artist and educator for 30 years and her work is in public and private collections around Australia and overseas. Her dual practice of painting and ceramics are intrinsically related, each informing the other.
Wendy set up Wendy Jagger Studio in Mansfield in 2010 and successfully runs ceramics and painting workshops from her studio, surrounded by the beautiful alpine environment of Victoria’s North East, and views directly to Mt Buller.
As a practising artist, her work is strongly influenced by seasonal changes on the landscape and the diversity of native Australian flora. She revels in painting ‘en plein air’, amidst the landscape, and trying to capture the mood of the moment. She then creates larger landscape paintings, as well as thrown porcelain, where the vessel becomes her canvas. Her artworks are sold in select galleries and her work is in numerous public and private collections.
Wendy has literally taught hundreds of people the wonderful craft of ceramics, and the joy of painting outside. Her students range from primary aged kids through to 75 year olds!
Some of her students have now gone on to set up their own studios.
