What you'll do
Looking for fun things to do in Brisbane? Come and experience throwing clay on the pottery wheel and join Wesley Taylor during this rewarding and relaxing evening.In this two hour workshop, you will receive guidance from a patient and experienced teacher to help you make unique clay masterpieces. You will be working with stoneware pottery clay which means you can take it home and let it dry. After around three days you can either:
- Take it to your local pottery place to get it fired to stoneware which will make it functional from $5 in Brisbane (we don’t fire here)
- Or you can keep it as an air-dried clay and paint your creations yourself later, however you feel with acrylic paint!
- One Platter per 10-15 people.
- Two platters per 16-25 people.
- Three platters per 26-35 people.
- Four platters for 36-45 people.
Knowledge required
Suitable for absolute beginners, no skills required!
What you'll get
- Materials provided, and a small craft tray to take your art pieces/clay masterpieces home.
- Welcome to leave for pickup another day if required.
What to bring
- Comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting clay on

I was fortunate to receive a scholarship from the Queensland Art Gallery, which gave me ample opportunity to pursue my passion and hone my skills.I'm very much inspired by the beauty and diversity of Australia. Many of my paintings focus on landscapes, surreal, animals and people. North Queensland is a particular favourite, and you'll see the influence of coral seas and mountain landscapes throughout my artwork. I have a post-impressionist style through which I try to capture the wonder of the world around us.I specialise in pastel on card, and acrylic on canvas, though I'm also experimenting with abstract and air brush.I've been fortunate enough to display my work in many art exhibitions, and have been the recipient of many prizes and awards.I offer Paint and Sip sessions along with Clay and Sip sessions, both at discounted rates for ClassBento Patrons.
