A DAY ON THE WHEEL
A Day on the Wheel Pottery Workshop is held at Not Yet Perfect Studio at Heathcote Cultural Precinct in Applecross.
We welcome individuals to come and learn a new skill, and further develop existing ones during this full day creative experience.
Wheel throwing is a beautiful and mindful artistic practise. It requires a level of detail and an understanding of a number of elements for your ceramic pieces to come out looking desirable and being functional.
This class is suitable for the absolute beginner to the more advanced potter. There are no previous skills required, simply bring your authentic self.
This workshop covers the basics of working in a pottery studio, how to create ceramics on the wheel, trimming your ceramic pieces, and a brief overview of the glazing process.
You’ll gain knowledge on working with different clay bodies, and the processes required to prepare your clay for throwing on the wheel. By the end of this day course, you would have journeyed through the pottery process from the design stage, to final product.
The course is fun and experimental, whilst being practical and foundational for those looking to learn more and further develop their pottery skills.
