5 x 2.5 hours Class size 1 to 4 guests

  $230 - $240 (Afterpay available)
($240 per guest when you book for 1 guest, $230/guest for 2+ guests)

This five-session introductory course offers a focused approach to portrait drawing by dedicating each session to mastering a specific facial feature.
Designed for beginners, the course breaks down complex portraiture into manageable parts, helping you gain confidence and accuracy in drawing each feature before combining them into a full portrait.
Through hands-on practice, you will develop a solid understanding of structure, proportion, shading, and detail for each element. By the end of the course, you will have gained the skills to create realistic, expressive portraits.
Session breakdown:
  • Eyes – Understanding eye anatomy, shape, symmetry, and capturing the “window to the soul.”
  • Nose – Learning about planes, proportions, and shading to create depth and realism.
  • Mouth and lips – Techniques for portraying volume, expression, and subtle texture.
  • Ears – Simplifying complex shapes and understanding placement and proportion.
  • Face structure and combining features – Bringing all elements together, covering facial proportions, alignment, and finishing techniques for a unified portrait.
No prior experience is needed. All you need is curiosity and a willingness to explore the art of portraiture!
