Inspire Community Services has been going for 5 years and started in the middle of Covid. We saw how the media was increasing our community's anxiety and causing division within our towns and cities. We started up Inspire Radio - a community Radio station that talks about Mental Health and Disability - in a bid to give people a voice who would normally be sidelined and ignored. One powerful lesson we learned through the creation of this station - give someone a microphone and allow them to speak their truth - and there's no limit to their growth. Just by being on air and speaking about their experiences, we saw massive growth in our volunteers.We have grown exponentially since our early days and will be starting to make our own pre-recorded podcasts which we will be putting out on air in due course. Initially we are looking at training up people who would like to run their own podcasts.
