Javid grew up on his family's farm in the North of Iran. He has fond memories of helping his dad on their farm and being in the kitchen cooking with his mum from an early age. Javid learnt how to plant and pick delicious fresh produce from the farm and he learnt how to create the most delicious traditional Persian meals. He also learnt how to ferment and preserve the bountiful harvest found in his part of Iran. This was the beginning of Javid's great passion and pleasure for cooking his creations and enthusiastically sharing them with family and friends. Javid went on to establish a successful cafe for 30 years in his home city before retiring.
About five years ago Javid migrated to Perth with his beloved wife Mahnaz. In this short time, so many new friends have been encouraging Javid to share his knowledge of Persian cuisine. And so, now, Javid and Mahnaz are very excited to offer Persian cooking classes to the people of Perth.
