This course is ideal for those who are just starting out in mosaics and would like to make something other than a flat stepping stone.
In this two session course, you'll learn how to create your own attractive mosaiced pot for the garden.
There's a great selection of glass tiles in multiple colours, sizes, and textures and your teacher can give you ideas on designs that work well on the pots, or you can work on your own. Only limited by your imagination!
These pots are a functional introduction to mosaics. You will learn how to achieve a design using different-sized tesserae while still having a pleasing symmetry or alignment.
All students will receive a 10% Discount Voucher to use in my store on their first shop (some exclusions apply).
Saturday 10 am - 4 pm: You will be working on a design and applying the glass tiles to your pot.
Sunday 9:30 am - 12 noon: You will grout the pot using a super-smooth cement grout. Your pot is ready to take home and display! Alternatively, you can elect to take a grout pack home on the Saturday, and grout in your own time.
There’s a maximum of 8 people in each class. A minimum of 3 students is required for this class to proceed.

Merlin Mosaica is a mosaic retail store selling all things for glass mosaic across Australia (and internationally). It is the creative outlet for Ali Howson, who will be your teacher and guide in these workshops.
I have been an artist for as long as I can remember. As a painter I have exhibited in Melbourne, and regional NSW.
My key driver is a love and understanding of colour & texture.
I have collected glass for many years and have visited glass factories in Venice.
I made my first mosaic in 2005.  My material of choice is stained glass.
After many years in IT, I decided to engage in my passion for colour and glass, and want to share my love of this medium with others
