My mosaics journey, started in 2011 while undertaking a community art project, the creation of a 2.5m entrance statement for a local retirement village.
From these beginning came the move into re-purposing of satellite dishes which evolved from a desire to use these beautiful elliptical shapes and transform them into items of beauty by using mosaic application.
This creative process continued to expand into a range of different substrata including terracotta, and wood. The decoration includes ceramic tiles, marble, stone, jewellery, semi-precious stones, crockery and glass. I feel I bring a wealth of creative experience to each mosaic piece and it’s in this process of making a mosaic that provides me with pleasure and absorption.
I've exhibited throughout the Southwest, and the Great Southern, and exhibited at Yallingup Galleries over twelve years, as well as an Artist in Residence at Art Geo in Busselton. The Dolphin Discovery Centre in Bunbury acquired my largest work thus far. I have taught classes and workshops in mosaic art at Stirling Art Centre in Bunbury and Art Geo Busselton. I now live in Perth and teach at Midland Junction Arts Centre and Inglewood Arts Hub.
