Want to write articles, put them on your blog, write for your business or workplace, or see them in print? Sip wine, chai or herbal tea and learn about the art and craft of article writing from your host and resident Blue Mountains writer, Linda deWilde-Moon.
This is a writing class in the Blue Mountains, suitable for those with basic writing skills and an interest in learning about article writing.
The workshop provides an introduction to writing non-fiction articles and will cover an overview of the following topics:
  • The structure and form of a short article.
  • Other key elements of an article including research and expert quotes.
  • Types and styles of articles including opinion pieces, listicles, news, how-to guides, and blogs.
  • Common media topics for articles: e.g. health articles, travel articles, gardening articles, and more.
  • Understanding how to approach the media and editors with your articles.
  • Some ideas for where to showcase or sell and publish your tales.
You will also get a chance to chat about an article idea of your own and complete a small writing exercise for feedback. Plus, there will be plenty of opportunities throughout the workshop to ask questions too!
