I’ve always been fascinated by the power of creativity to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. My journey began with traditional art forms, and as technology evolved, I embraced digital art, finding endless possibilities in tools like Procreate. A pivotal moment came when I realized how much I loved sharing my passion with others—watching people discover their own creative abilities has been incredibly rewarding. My philosophy of “Slow Art” encourages mindfulness and stress reduction, focusing on the joy of the process rather than the pressure of perfection.
I love teaching because it’s a chance to inspire and be inspired. Whether I’m guiding a beginner’s first steps in digital art or helping someone unlock new techniques, I find joy in creating a welcoming space where people can explore their creativity without judgment. Teaching also allows me to meet incredible people, each bringing their own unique perspective to the process. It’s a collaboration as much as it is a class.
One thing many people don’t know is that I’ve been at the forefront of the digital publishing world since the late 1990s. I created one of the first eBooks using the then-new PDF format and developed an innovative print-on-demand system long before it became mainstream. These experiences have deeply informed my artistic practice, blending technology and creativity.
I hold a Diploma in Cartooning with Distinction and have a bold, expressive style of line drawing that people often describe as uniquely my own. Combining my expertise in traditional and digital media allows me to offer students a holistic approach to art-making.
I’ve been teaching for over 5 years, running workshops for both beginners and experienced artists. My courses have attracted students of all ages, and I’ve been fortunate to teach art-based team bonding sessions for organizations and community groups.
I hold a Diploma in Cartooning (Distinction), a Diploma in Art Therapy, a Graduate Certificate in Creative Business, a Bachelor of Arts, and a Masters in eBusiness. These qualifications allow me to blend creativity with technical expertise and business acumen, offering students practical skills they can apply in their own creative journeys.
I’ve taught at Canberra Art Workshops and ASOC and hosted a variety of independent courses, including outdoor urban sketching, mindfulness-focused art sessions, and digital art classes tailored for Procreate.
I’ve won the Artists Society of Canberra’s Digital Art Prize three times in a row. My work has been featured in exhibitions and recognized by peers, which is always an honor.
