Painting is a wonderful and satisfying creative outlet. For some, it can be therapeutic, and for me, as a mum, it’s time out! Come along for a fun, relaxed, and creative few hours where we will cover the basics of painting furniture. A hands-on workshop for beginners, where you will learn skills to update your very own piece of furniture or decor and, depending on the size of the piece you bring along, you’ll take home a finished project on the day, as well as the skills to continue your own upcycling projects at home.
We will cover prep, brush technique, and how to get the distressed look with Fusion Mineral Paint.
Places are limited, so get in early to avoid disappointment!

You don’t have to be an expert to update your own furniture. All you need is some quality paint, a good brush and some good advice. In my workshops, I will teach you upcycling techniques that will enable you to transform a piece of tired furniture: from trash to treasure!
Being creative - combining art through colour, design and creative thinking - with interesting yet discarded pieces of furniture, has been food for my soul. In a former life (pre-kids), I was a principal dancer with The Birmingham Royal Ballet, and lead dancer with the Australian Ballet. Being immersed in ballet’s theatrically creative environment inspired my ‘look’ and prompted my desire to further pursue my interest in design with the Interior Design Institute of London.
What I bring to you in my upcycling workshops, are years of creativity and upcycling experience through my business: Ballerina with a Paintbrush. I specialise in all projects which paint can bring alive; from furniture to even kitchen makeovers! My workshops will give you the knowledge and tools to begin your own upcycling addiction.
