What you'll do
Our small, friendly and relaxed life drawing sessions are suitable for artists at all experience levels. This full day option combines a mentored and untutored session over the same day.Class outline:11:30am - 12:30pmIn our morning mentored session, you will draw the figure using the materials and techniques of your choice, with a mentor available to support you in achieving your creative goals. Your mentor will provide exercises and offer technical advice, feedback and comments throughout the session, working with you to extend your own practise. We break for lunch around 12:45pm.You are welcome to use the time between sessions (2:30pm - 3:00pm) at your easel or you may like to spend the time in the garden with a cup of tea or a coffee.3:00pm - 5:30pmIn the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to implement what you have learned in the morning, creating at your own pace without tutoring. The tutor will still be available and will be timing the poses in this session. You are also welcome to spend the whole day as an untutored session if you would prefer to explore your own practice.

What you'll get
- We have life models at every session and the model fee is included in the price. We start each session with a series of short warm-up poses, progressing to longer poses, depending on group preference.
- We provide easels, backboards, personal art tables and chairs/stools.
What to bring
- An apron (just a kitchen one is fine) and/or wear old, comfortable clothes.
- We will maintain a warm indoor temperature for the models so wear layers if it is cold outside.
- Your favourite drawing materials. If this is your first time trying life drawing, we can supply some basic materials to get you started.
- Lunch to enjoy in our 30-minute break at around 12:45pm (we have a fridge for participant use).

Hi, I'm Catherine!Cerulean Studio opened in 2021 in time for the South Australian Living Artist (SALA) festival that year. We offer a warm, friendly and welcoming environment where people's creativity can flourish. We host regular life drawing sessions and a range of classes and workshops. Cerulean Studio also travels to the country, and we offer longer retreats and memorable artistic and cultural experiences overseas. We showcase student and tutor works during the SALA festival most years.
