Looking for fun things to do in Newcastle? Join this unique cooking class, where you'll learn how to bring French and Italian food together.
First, you will learn the secrets of making authentic crusty baguettes and enjoy their aroma as they come out of the oven. While the bread is rising, you will make a selection of antipasto, including chargrilled and marinated vegetables.
Our experienced teacher will guide you through the process, providing clear and easy-to-follow instructions. Whether you're a seasoned home cook or a beginner in the kitchen, this workshop is designed to cater to all skill levels, ensuring a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone.
By the end of the class, you will then sit at the dining table to enjoy this perfect paring (baguette and antipasto) with a glass of vino!

Owner and Pastry Chef - Janet Newton
The passion for baking and cooking started in childhood for Janet Newton. The long Christmas holidays she spent baking with Czechoslovakian family friend, Irene. During this time the family was provided with an endless supply of traditional tarts, slices, biscuits and cakes.
The wonderful love of sharing food with family and friends was born out of these one on one cooking lessons and is the inspiration behind the opening of The Yellow Door Kitchen.
Janet trained as Pastry Chef at the famous Le Cordon Bleu cooking school and has many years’ experience working in restaurants and patisseries. Her ability to combine flavours and her passion for baking is infectious and will ensure students are transported into a wonderful, creative world of cooking during her classes.
