In this four week course, you will learn to make basic and advanced cupcakes and decorate a buttercream cake.
Over the four weeks, you will gain confidence with buttercream and be able to produce beautiful creations, led by one of Perth's best cake teachers, Carli!
This class will run on Wednesdays from 12:30-2:30pm over four weeks.
Course overview:
  • Wednesday 16 Oct - intro to buttercream and cupcake piping (take home cupcakes)
  • Wednesday 23 Oct - piping Russian buttercream flowers and leaves (take home cupcakes)p
  • Wednesday 30 Oct - piping advanced flowers using flower nail (take home cupcakes)
  • Wednesday 6 Nov - decorate a buttercream cake (take home your cake). Please note this class starts at 12pm.
By the end of the course, you can take home your delicious piped creations, as well as new buttercream decorating skills!

Hi I'm Carli and I'm a cake teacher.
I grew up in Perth, in a house where my mum made delicious treats every weekend from scratch.
I’m talking vanilla slice, chocolate eclairs, fairy cakes, cinnamon scrolls. Really, I could go on.
I got diagnosed with a nut allergy at 19, and it kind of flipped my dessert world upside down. I knew I would have to learn to bake for myself to enjoy safe treats and satisfy that sweet tooth.
My dream became a reality when I studied at TAFE and ran a successful home baking business for many years, baking safe treats for all occasions. I then discovered a love of teaching. I’d once planned to study a dip Ed and go into teaching so I guess it makes sense, but wowee, do I get a buzz out of it!
I have a passion for food and I LOVE sharing my baking tips with others so they too can create delicious memories with loved ones. I’m not sure there’s anything better than sitting down and savouring some home-baked treats, so I want to pass that on to as many people as I can.
I am also about making baking easy and fitting in around your life/health/kids. Baking doesn’t need to be overly complicated or mean needing more tools that you know what to do with. I’m all about simplicity.
