Give new life to an ordinary bottle or jar with the art of freeform crochet!
In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore creative, unstructured crochet techniques to transform your chosen vessel into a beautifully textured, one-of-a-kind piece. Using a mix of yarn and rope, you’ll learn how to work organically around curves and edges, embracing the fluid nature of freeform crochet.
This workshop is perfect for those who are already comfortable with basic crochet stitches and are ready to experiment with new materials in a relaxed and supportive setting.
By the end of the class, you’ll have a solid understanding of how to work with rope in freeform crochet and will have completed a large portion of your vessel cover, ready to finalise at home.
Note: You will need to bring a 3.5mm crochet hook and your vessel of choice. Try to keep the diameter small (max 7cm) to maximise the time in class.

My name is Leah. I’m the owner and creator behind This Lush Corner an online fibre store and now a learning space to help you dive into a new craft.
I’m a Fibre artist and accredited teacher through the Australian Crochet Guild and bring my lifelong experience in crochet and fibre crafts. I am a lover of not only crochet, but knitting, machine knitting, basket weaving and Pine needle basketry crafts.
I choose slow fashion, mending and repurposing rather than disposal. There's something special about the process of creating or repairing something by hand, it's a mindful activity that allows us to slow down and appreciate the craftsmanship involved.
It's a way to preserve traditional crafts and share stories with others and pass on knowledge.
If you are ready to try your hand at a new skill, then let’s jump in and discover the joy of making together!
