Learn about the art and craft of writing while you sip wine, chai or herbal tea and sit in cosy comfort within the Blue Mountains cottage of local writer, Linda deWilde-Moon.
This class is suitable for those with an interest in learning the essential elements of the art and craft of writing.
The workshop will be tailored to your particular writing interest and include practical exercises.
This workshop will cover:
  • Structuring different types of stories including articles, self-help, first-person stories, short stories and more
  • The basic key elements of a good story
  • How to weave in personal experience
  • Writing dialogue
  • Creating interesting and life-like characters
  • Use of tense and point of view
  • Plotting
  • Editing
  • Common mistakes of beginner writers to avoid
  • How to enrich your vocabulary and understanding of writing
  • Where to find story inspiration
  • Developing a routine
  • Helpful online tools
You will also get a chance to chat about a piece of your own writing and complete several small writing exercises for feedback. Plus, there will be plenty of opportunities throughout the workshop to ask questions too!
