Clothes Swap

Transform your wardrobe: swap clothes for fresh finds!

2 hours Experience size 1 to 50 guests     $10
Are you ready to refresh your wardrobe and score some unique new pieces?
Join us for a clothes swap. It’s economical, friendly to the environment and (let’s be honest) a whole lot of fun!
Clothes swapping is an excellent way to renew your wardrobe, connect with like-minded fashionistas and reduce your impact on natural resources. You might even be able to hear the story behind someone else's clothes and get some styling tips. You can't get that shopping at Westfield!
Our swap will focus on women's clothing, shoes and handbags. Please no jewellery, Bric-a-Brac, manchester, children's clothing, men's clothing, or books.
To participate you:
Book your ticket - there's a $10 Participation Fee which includes yummy refreshments (after all, clothes swapping is hard work!). Proceeds from the day will be donated to the Sandgate Repair Cafe, a not-for-profit organisation that focuses on the 'repair, reuse and recycle' economy.
Donate between 8 and 15 clean items of women's clothing/shoes/handbags that are still in good condition but don’t serve you anymore. Please - no stains, tears, rips or holes. If you wouldn't give it to your bestie, then it's not suitable for this swap.
Drop off your clothing donations to Hive Studios @ Banyo:
Wednesday 30 October 6pm - 8pm
Saturday 2 November 9.30am - 12.30pm
(there may be more drop off dates/times advised closer to the swap date)
Arrive ready to Swap from 1.30pm Saturday 2 November. While there is no limit to how much clothing you can take, we do ask you try and minimise compulsive consumption.
The Clothes Swap will finish at 3.30pm. Any clothing left after the swap will be donated to a local charity shop for women, most likely 'Be Uplifted Inc' which supports women with breast cancer.
NOTE: We'll send you an email a few weeks before the Swap date to confirm everything and to co-ordinate your clothes donation.

Art from the Urban Wilderness is a large community art studio located at Hive Studios in Banyo, northside Brisbane/Meanjin.
The studio was founded by artist Sandra Pearce in 2021, and specialises in printmaking, papermaking, drawing, sketching and artist books. We offer workshops, courses, social art days, and artist talk events.
Our mission is to build an inclusive art community that nurtures creative authenticity, confidence and resilience. We also believe in the power of art to break the cycle of disaffection towards nature, to enrich lives and inspire care for the environment.
Our studio is also available for hire for creative events, meetings, gatherings, and art workshops.
