What you'll do
Want to add a special handmade touch to Christmas? Learn how to make stockings for kids and adults to hang ready for gifts and some Christmas bunting to set the festive scene! In this sewing class, you will first select and design your fabrics and trims from a wide range of high-quality fabrics in the traditional Christmas red, green and gold or perhaps you prefer blue and silver or even the Scandi touch. Then it’s on to putting your stockings together with the techniques you are taught step by step as you go along. For the bunting, we will look at some different ways of making the triangles and attaching them to the trim and then the fun of picking out the matching fabrics and trims to suit your style before getting to the making stage.By the end of the day, you'll leave with enhanced sewing skills, two Christmas stockings, four metres of bunting and plenty of ideas for future Christmas sewing projects. Get ready for a fun and fulfilling festive sewing activity!

This course is aimed at those with at least beginner sewing skills. You should know how to thread and use a sewing machine.
What you'll get
- Two Christmas stockings and four metres of bunting. More can be made if there is time on the day for an extra charge to cover materials.
- A wide range of high-quality Christmas fabrics, Christmas trim, ribbons, and threads will be available for participants to select from.
- All basic sewing equipment and sewing machines will be supplied.
What to bring
- You can bring your sewing machine if you wish - please bring along the instruction manual and don't forget the power cord and foot control.
- Tea/coffee will be provided but you will need to bring your lunch.

I am Carole, an experienced high school textiles teacher and creator and collector of anything textiles. The Yellow Cottage is where I live and the Studio is in the garden and where I create. I would love to share my passion for textiles and teaching with you, to get you started or re-started sewing your own clothes, super cute toys and gorgeous things for your home or as gifts.Classes are held in a nearby high school with an extensive range of equipment, enough sewing machines for everyone to have their own (or bring your own) and plenty of space to spread out - the perfect environment for learning and creativity.Come along, be inspired and gain the skills you need to become an expert sewist in your own version of the Sewing Bee.
