Ceramics Class for Beginners

Make three to four ceramic pieces while enjoying cheese and wine in Brisbane

3 hours Class size 1 to 6 guests

$150 (Afterpay available)

Sip on a glass of wine and enjoy a cheese platter, all while learning the meditative art of hand-making ceramics in this three-hour Brisbane workshop!
In this beginner-friendly class, you will design and create ceramics with clay hand-building techniques. Explore the intricacies of clay materiality all while sipping and nibbling in a relaxing and cosy atmosphere.
You will be collaborating alongside a small group of fellow students to practice clay-building techniques at your own pace and under one-on-one supervision after a demonstration of each technique is introduced to you.
This beginner's class is designed for you to discover different bodies of clay and learn the three main techniques used in hand-built ceramics:
  • Pinch pot
  • Coiling
  • Soft slab
You will experience a variety of textures and approaches to hand-building with ceramics. You will be encouraged to create your own ceramic bowls, cups, plates and flower vases with personal guidance.
By the end of the class, you will have learned the main basic techniques of hand-building with clay and spent a great time relaxing, learning, having fun and connecting with other students. Plus, you'll have three to four small to medium ceramic wares that you created!
