Looking for a creative and enjoyable activity in Melbourne? Join our ceramic painting activity and take some time decorating one of our handmade stoneware ceramics. You'll get the chance to create your own bespoke design on unique ceramic pieces made at Mayfield Street.
Our friendly teacher will guide you through various techniques, making sure you feel comfortable and confident, even if you're a beginner, then away you go! Bring a friend and a bottle to share, sit back, relax, create something special and leave feeling better than when you arrived.
Whether you're celebrating a hens party, birthday, team building event, or simply having a fun outing with your loved ones (or someone new!) this workshop is the perfect activity.
Join us at our bright and airy studio on Mayfield Street, Melbourne's newest arts precinct, where a number of pottery activities take place simultaneously, creating a vibrant and exciting atmosphere.
Please note:
  • Your finished pieces will be ready to collect a minimum of four weeks after the workshop. If shipping is required, please inform our team during the class.
  • This is a public event that takes place in the same studio space as our wheel throwing classes, creating an exciting creative atmosphere. If you'd like to reserve the ceramic painting class space for your group, click the private requests button below.
Alternatively, if you'd like to book the entire studio for a private Clay Soiree, check out our Premium package.
  • If you have more than 7 guests please request a private booking so we can allocate seats and tables at the studio.
  • For private bookings who would like their own table please send through a request so we can cater the space for you, if booked separately under a public booking we cannot guarantee that there will be a full table for your group :)

None! No matter your experience, this is a fun and inclusive class!
 
What you'll get

Please note that ceramics can be unpredictable in the final firing. If your work fails in the final firing and is unusable we will give you the full value of this class as a gift voucher to any class at Mayfield Street.
Glazes, tools, decorative techniques, and firing of your piece which will be ready for collection after minimum four weeks!
What to bring
  • Lots of energy and positivity!
  • BYO food, drinks and alcohol! water is always on hand but feel free to bring something along if you think you will need it! (We do not have kitchen facilities to preheat food.)
  • We will provide glassware and ice!

Two siblings, Sally and Michael, restored a mid century warehouse in Abbotsford to create a ceramics studio, wood workshop and boutique cinema and invited anyone and everyone to share the space! Now the whole family helps out, inviting people to share in creating a creative and inclusive experience for anyone who needs 20 seconds of inspiration to fuel their day.
