My Journey in Art & Candle Making
Hi, I'm Kiyeon, the creator behind Drawing Candle. I majored in fine arts and sculpture, and I’ve always loved creating things with my hands. After the pandemic, I decided to learn candle making, and I found it incredibly exciting to merge my knowledge of sculpture with candle design. It became more than just a craft—it was a way to express creativity in a whole new form.
Now in my third year of running a candle business, I’ve realised that I want to share my knowledge with others. I truly enjoy seeing each person’s unique personality reflected in the candles they create. Before starting my candle business, I worked as an art teacher, teaching both children and adults. After transitioning into candle making, I combined my background in art with my new passion, developing workshops where students can create both candles and paintings.
I mainly teach small-group classes, which allows me to provide more attention and guidance to each participant. While I haven't taught large-scale workshops, I believe the strength of small classes lies in the personalised learning experience.
I studied candle making in Korea and hold a professional certification in the aroma candle. Through this, I’ve gained experience with various candle-making techniques and forms. All of my candles and decorative objects are original designs—something you won’t find anywhere else. My work has been recognised with awards, including the Best Design selection at the 2022 Design Award Dongdaemun Korea and an Excellence Award at the 2024 Design Award.
In my workshops, I hope to provide a special candle-making experience where participants can explore new techniques and bring their unique creative visions to life. I can't wait to see the beautiful and one-of-a-kind candles you’ll create!
