Let’s Go Surfing was established in 1995 from the back of a Kombi van in Bondi Beach by Founder and Director Brenda Miley, a lifelong surfer, pioneer of surf tuition, mentor to women and highly respected business woman.
“I simply wanted to encourage more girls to surf,” reflects Brenda. “There were no female wetsuits, no surf lessons for women and the line-up consisted mostly of boys.”
Brenda’s surf school lessons gave women and girls a safe and encouraging space to gain confidence in their surfing skills without intimidation or embarrassment.
Today female surfers dominate on the world stage, women’s wetsuits are a fashion item and any lineup in Australia includes women and girls who rip with grace and style.
Brenda’s Kombi van surf school is now an award-winning surf school head-quartered in Australia’s spiritual home of surfing, Bondi Beach, with operations in Maroubra, La Perouse and Byron Bay. Catering to beginners and recreational surfers of all ages,
genders and abilities, the company’s contribution to getting more women
on waves is significant.
