What you'll do

Unleash your creativity in our Bold Butterfly Collage workshop. In this colourful and vibrant class, participants will create beautiful butterfly collages inspired by the playful and bold artwork of Pete Cromer and Eric Carle.

Using a variety of textured papers, artists will combine and layer materials to craft the wings and body of their butterflies.

Inspired by Pete Cromer's vibrant, geometric designs and Eric Carle’s rich, colourful textures, this workshop encourages imagination, experimentation, and artistic expression. It’s a fun, hands-on way to learn about colour, symmetry, texture, and the beauty of layering materials.

Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a first-time creator, this workshop welcomes adults, children, and all skill levels. By the end of the class, you’ll leave with a stunning, one-of-a-kind butterfly collage that showcases your creativity.

No experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm and love for colour!

Parents are welcome to assist their child in creating their artwork if they'd like, ensuring a fun and collaborative experience. However, if parents wish to create their own artwork, they will need to purchase an adult ticket to participate.

We take photos of student artwork during our classes for social media but never include any faces.

Studio Marigold was founded by Natalie and Jacek, a husband-and-wife team who decided it was time to take their careers in a more creative direction. With Natalie’s background in teaching and Jacek’s in photography, they’ve both spent years exploring various artistic practices and have always shared a love of learning new skills and experimenting with creative processes. Their dream was to create a space where others could do the same—a place to try, learn, and grow, no matter your experience level or age.

At it's heart, Studio Marigold is about building a creative community. It’s a welcoming space designed for fun, discovery, and connection. Whether you’re curious about ceramics, painting, drawing, or something else, our classes and workshops provide the opportunity to explore your artistic side in a supportive and inspiring environment.
