Work up an appetite with the urban sport of axe throwing and a brewery tour in Canberra. If you’re looking for unique things to do in Canberra, it doesn’t get much cooler than this!
The professionals from the Axxe team will run you through the basics of urban axe throwing, and there’ll be a competition to crown the champion. What do you win? Bragging rights for the rest of the day, of course!
Once you’ve finished channelling your inner Viking, we’ll whisk you off to get a behind the scenes look at some of Canberra’s best breweries. You’ll be taken on a guided brewery tour at two different locations, where you’ll find out everything there is to know about the ingredients from your favourite ales, the brewing methods and you’ll have the opportunity to get stuck into some serious craft beer tasting.
We’ll even help to keep your energy levels up with a delicious lunch packed with local produce at a cool nearby pub.
The breweries we visit on the day of the tour can change, as opening hours vary from day-to-day. Our focus is on providing a good mix of places, people, and of course, independent craft beers.
On the day, you could visit the following places:
  • Axxe Urban Axe Throwing (you will visit here)
  • Capital Brewing Co.
  • Zierholz Premium Brewery
When booking this experience, you will need to book a minimum of six guests.
Important tour information:
  • We will meet at 9.30 am at BentSpoke Brewing Co, corner of Mort St & Elouera St, Braddon.
  • If you are running late, give us a call but please, please, please be on time. Your guide will love you for it!
  • Drop-off is at approximately 3:30 pm at BentSpoke.
  • This tour accommodates a minimum of six and a maximum of 10 guests (get in touch for information on larger group sizes). Your order will be confirmed once we have filled six seats on the tour.
  • Because our tours are truly behind the scenes experiences sometimes our plans need to change to accommodate brewery operations. And sometimes we just know about beer goings-on around town that are worth checking out, so we may change some parts of our tours.
  • Whilst these changes are rare, we do reserve the right to make them. If you do have a must-see beer spot, please let us know when making your booking and we’ll do all we can to make it happen.
Please note: For larger groups of 12 to 20 people, a $500 charter fee will be charged. For any groups larger than 20, please contact us for charter fee prices.

“At Dave’s, we’re all about showing you local as we love it all; food, drinks, history, and culture. Come explore with us on tour!”
Our philosophy is simple – collaboration. We love bringing people together to taste and experience the craftsmanship of our local producers.
Whether that is on a behind the scenes brewery tour, a walk back in time through our pub culture on a pub walk, or a corporate event – everything we do is about connecting more people to local communities.
In doing so, we are supporting the passions and dreams of those who are bringing to market some of the finest products available and making visitors aware of the toil and strife that goes into producing great drinks and food.
To us, it’s more than the art and science. It’s the stories, the legends, the scars of effort and devotion to doing something different. It’s about connecting people who are passionate about what they produce with those who are equally as passionate about what they consume.
