This Advanced Beginners/Intermediate Crochet workshop is for those who have moved on from basic beginners and have some more advanced beginner or intermediate crochet skills.
During this workshop, you will learn how to do some advanced stitches as well as reading patterns and charts for the first hour. Then we will begin to crochet our Mandala Round Tote Bag.
As you make your beautiful Mandala round bag, you will get to learn a variety of advanced stitches including all basic stitches plus some more advanced texture stitches like front post, clusters, puff stitch and V-stitch. You will also learn how to master a Magic Ring.
I will also be teaching you how to add beads to your work for an extra dimension.
There will be written instructions as well as a diagram/symbol chart.
I will go over reading charts and patterns so don’t stress---you will be helped with every step.
This bag is a take-home project to be completed at home.
Full instructions are included. It includes detailed descriptions, pattern notes and a Symbol Chart.
By the end of the workshop, you will have a sound understanding of how to read and understand symbol charts and how to read a written pattern as well as learning new advanced stitches and working in the round.
It will be a good challenging item to make for those who want a more advanced project.
The bag is quite large at approximately 46-53 cm wide and would make a lovely beach bag, shopping bag, festival bag, etc. It can be lined to really finish it off and would make a wonderful gift.
This is an adults-only workshop.

Knowledge required
  • Advanced beginner crochet skills are required. Must know how to chain, slip stitch, double crochet, single crochet, half double crochet. Must have basic knowledge of how to read a pattern and a basic understanding of crochet symbols/charts. (I will go over this before we begin.)
  • You will learn Magic Ring, Front Post, Clusters, Puff Stitch, V Stitch.
  • Pattern is worked in US Terminology.
What you'll get
  • All yarn is supplied, plus a size 5.5 crochet hook.
  • A take home workbook.
Homemade morning tea.
Bag is made of cotton and uses approximately 3 to 4 x 100gm balls of yarn. Because of the cost of providing the yarn, I have included it in the cost of the workshop, hence the higher cost of this workshop compared to my beginners' workshops.
