Join a professional artist on an inspiring urban sketching adventure, where you’ll explore your local neighbourhood and capture its vibrant seasonal beauty, stunning cityscapes, and inviting public spaces through skillful sketching. Learn how to create beautifully composed drawings, then bring them to life with the rich tones and textures of watercolour wash.
Throughout this hands-on course, you’ll refine your outdoor urban sketching techniques while experimenting with new methods to add depth, focus, and a sense of atmosphere to your compositions. You’ll discover how to convey the unique character of a place and express your personal response through your sketches.
By the end of the course, you’ll have mastered this portable art form, making it easy to sketch while travelling or document your local surroundings with visual journaling. Whether you're on the go or in your neighbourhood, you’ll be ready to capture the world around you through your art.
The session begins in the classroom, where you'll meet fellow participants before heading outdoors to draw in thoughtfully chosen locations that inspire creativity.
The class will start and finish in the classroom, but much of the day will be spent outdoors.
