Distinctive & Bold
I am a creative by heart and love making new things. All sorts of things. If my hands are busy, I’m in my happy place.
Originally from South Africa, I moved to Australia in 2006. I lived in Sydney for about 9 years before settling on the beautiful Central Coast, NSW.
Suncatchers appeal to me because of how they catch the light and remind me to find the sparkle in every day.
I have 52 suncatchers hanging in my kitchen window and if I stand there at a certain time of the morning, I look just like a disco ball with all the light reflecting on me!
Each suncatcher is made with quality glass (mostly) beads or crystals. I'll generally start with choosing the hanging pendant. This dictates what beads I'll use and then I match colours and textures and a suncatcher is created.
If I want to use specific beads, the pendant is chosen based on the beads.
I don't think too much about the process because I want each suncatcher to be unique.
